Vintage-Style Mini Cake Decorating for Beginners

About this class:

Have you ever wanted to create those beautiful, vintage-inspired mini cakes you see all over social media? Join us for a fun, hands-on beginner class where you will learn the foundational skills of buttercream cake decorating while designing your very own adorable mini cake!

Join Celebrity Pastry Chef Dawn of Ravy Cakes, LLC for a fun and creative cake decorating experience!

In this workshop, we will guide you step-by-step through the process of frosting a 4-inch round cake to achieve smooth, professional-looking sides. Once your base is perfected, we will dive into piping techniques, teaching you how to hold a piping bag and create beautiful, consistent buttercream swirls. To finish your masterpiece, we will decorate the cake in a chic, retro style with delicate black ribbon bows and bright, glossy cherries.

This class is designed entirely for beginners, so absolutely no prior decorating experience is necessary. We provide a relaxed, welcoming environment where you can ask questions, practice your new skills, and get creative.

  • Techniques for applying the final buttercream layer and achieving smooth, straight buttercream sides
  • Essential piping skills, including how to pipe perfect star-tip swirls, ruffles, plus more!
